Rainhill Girls Under 13’s completed their season with a win against Tonge at home on Saturday.
Batting first all the girls managed to add runs to the scoreboard and although lost a few wickets managed to get the score up to 276.  The best batting came from the pair of Annabelle and Sarah, which provided a high number of runs at a difficult time in the match.

A great Bowling effort from all the girls produced a fine display against a keen opposition looking to avenge the previous weeks defeat. Savanna, Sienna and Oliva bowled well, taking wickets for not many runs and then Sarah came on and bowled her leg spin with great control and wickets.

Mid way through the innings a vital run out from Sarah halted the flow and set Tonge CC back in their pursuit of 276.
As the overs were running down Rainhill kept taking wickets including one vital one from Scarlett who also kept wicket in the first 8 overs.
As the pressure increased Maya Patel, Aoibheann Shah and Elizabeth held their nerve and kept taking vital wickets and keeping the score down, and leading us to victory.

As the season has now finished we can look back on the many positives from this year, including all the new girls who have joined us and the success they have achieved.

Looking ahead we are keen to develop the strong friendship between the team and achieve more goals next season.
We have some exciting plans for the team starting in the winter and hope we can grow even more.
