Amazons beat Formby

Superb bowling performances earn another win

Rainhill Amazons continued the great form this season with another win against Formby.

Due to rain the game was delayed by 30 mins but both sides were keen on playing and Rainhill bowled first to restrict Formby to a net total of 229.

All the team bowled their overs very well with Olivia Smedley (taking five wickets) and Maddie Rotheram (four, including a hat trick) being the standout performers.

Rainhill Amazons then produced a very mature all-round performance with the bat by losing only a few the wickets and keeping the scoreboard moving against some very good Formby bowling.

The crowd appreciated the effort by both sides which led to great atmosphere down at Victoria Terrace and both coaches were pleased with the game.

The next game for the Amazons is on Sunday 23rd July at Maghull where they will try and stay top of the league.
