Another Fantastic Night for Junior Cricket
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support our Fundraiser for Junior Cricket on Friday evening.
What a night it was! With a fantastic turnout, glorious weather, great food, brilliant music and, of course, a bit of cricket, the evening was a tremendous success both on and off the field.
We’re delighted to announce that together we raised an incredible £3,750, beating last year’s total and making a significant contribution towards the future of junior cricket at Rainhill Cricket Club.
What started as a slightly daft idea between a couple of ex-players just last year has quickly grown into one of the club’s standout social events, bringing together players, families, friends and the wider community. Seeing around 300 people enjoying the evening and supporting the club was something everyone involved can be proud of.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the many volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes before, during and after the event. Their efforts, alongside the support of our Social Committee and the club itself, made the evening possible. We’d also like to thank everyone who donated the fantastic raffle prizes – judging by the excitement around the draw, they may even have stolen the show!
For everyone who has been asking, the music was provided by Mersey Mobile DJ, who helped create a brilliant atmosphere throughout the evening.
Club President Mike Rotheram summed up the evening perfectly:
“On Friday night, we had our second ex-players cricket match, which turned out to be a fantastic night. Having been run last year to raise money towards our new nets, they said they wanted to do it again. Attended by around 300 people, the club was bouncing. The lads did an amazing job of organising the event, supported by our Social Committee and volunteers to ensure everyone had a cracking night. We managed to raise £3,750, which will be going towards designated improvements for the junior section. We will provide an update once we know exactly how the funds will be spent. A huge thanks to everyone who supported us.”
