Rainhill Secure Victory Over Bootle in Women’s Softball Encounter

In a thrilling match under the sunny skies at Wadham Road, Rainhill CC – Womens Softball team emerged victorious against Bootle CC – Firwood Bootle Belles CC.  Winning the toss and opting to field first, Rainhill’s bowlers showcased their skills to restrict Bootle to 100 runs for 7 wickets in their allotted 16 overs.  Sarah Curlett and Lucy Strettle led the bowling attack, each claiming two wickets, supported by economical spells from Katie Roberts and Emily Lowrie.

In response, Rainhill’s batting lineup demonstrated composure and precision, reaching a total of 131 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 16 overs.  Sarah Curlett top-scored with 17 runs, ably supported by contributions from Sue Lowrie and Katie Roberts.  Despite some disciplined bowling efforts from Bootle, Rainhill managed to achieve their target comfortably, securing a well-deserved victory.

This win marks another impressive performance for Rainhill CC – Womens Softball in the Liverpool Competition Women & Girls League.
