Scorecard

Rainhill secured a tight 2 wicket win over Wallasey CC at home, thanks to a superb batting effort by Khalid Usman. Winning the toss Rainhill decided to bowl. Rainhill restricted the visitors to 166 all out from 63 overs. This was thanks to some economical bowling from both Saeed Ullah, who returned 4-30 from his impressive 19 overs and Khalid Usman who returned figures of 3-50 from 23 overs, this spin partnership was back up by seamer Luke Procter, (3-50).
Needing 167 from 44 overs against a Wallasey bowling attack that holds overseas professional Sumit Ruikar was always going to be a challenge. Rainhill fell to 18-3, putting a shift in momentum back in the away sides favour. What followed was a
partnership of 146 runs between Luke Procter, (51 from 105 balls) and Khalid
Usman, (95 from 105 balls), showing the ability to absorb early pressure, retain time at the crease and attack when needed.
Wallasey overseas professional claimed 6-84 from his 20 overs, including a late push against Rainhill which saw the home side slip from164-3 to eventually 167-8 when the winning run was scored in the last over of the day.
