Rainhill produced a positive home performance to beat Newton-le-Willows by 9 wickets, in a reduced overs game.

Winning the toss and bowling Rainhill were met by positive batting from the Newton-le-willows openers, producing an opening stand of 62, before being broken by Luke Procter.  From 62-1 the away side were reduced to 102 all out, thanks, in partnership to Luke Procter, (20-7-36-4) and Khalid Usman, producing his third 5 wicket haul of the league season, finishing with 21.5-11-23-5.

Newton batted for 51.5 overs, which left Rainhill 19 overs to make 103.

Opening the batting for Rainhill, former Derbyshire CCC captain Billy Godleman, (46 not out from 48 balls) and fellow opener Bilal Khan, (40) shared an opening partnership of 86, batting aggressively to ensure the run rate needed never got beyond Rainhill’s grasp.
Coming in at number three, Khalid Usman hit 15 not out from 5 balls to see Rainhill over the line and win by 9 wickets.
